Students often report that before starting their own business they want more industry experience. Retool will place students in multidisciplinary student task forces which offer fresh eyes and creative solutions to an existing organization's old problems. All the while, students will gain valuable insight into an industry. In particular, we aim to partner with companies who are seeking new talent so that relationships started in Retool may continue to grow after the program.
Why this is important to us
There are thousands of companies in Canada with little to no succession plan, and no energy to recreate themselves. Rather than a threat to economic stability, we see this as an opportunity for innovative young people to rise to the occasion. Retool will allow our students to show off their problem solving skills and leadership potential, directly applied to an existing organizations's pain points. Importantly, they will do so in a multidisciplinary team that can lead to more insightful solutions. We hope that Retool will be a starting point that enables our students to become new leaders of high potential organizations.
